William B. Spottswood graduated from the University of Florida, B.A in Accounting in 1975 and from the Florida State University Law School in 1982. He is a Director of Keystar, Inc., a Partner in the law firm Spottswood, Spottswood, Spottswood & Sterling, and a Director of First State Bank of the Florida Keys.

In his capacity as an attorney, he oversaw the development approval process for the properties owned and operated by Spottswood Management, as well as for other third-party projects effected by Environmental Land Use Law.

As President of Keystar, Inc, he successfully assisted clients in obtaining development approval by local, state and federal agencies associated with the development of land water facilities.

In addition to Bill’s practice of environmental and land use law for 30 years, he has also dedicated his time and energy to many local organizations. He has served as Chairman of the Key West Red Cross, Chairman of the Key West Military Affairs Committee, past Commodore of the Key West Yacht Club, Chairman of the Conch Republic Offshore Power Boat Racing Association, Founding Member of the Key West Police Athletic League, past original member of The Florida Keys Educational Foundation, and Founding Member of the Florida Keys Fishing Tournaments, Inc.

Bill is passionate about our next generation of youth. He has coached baseball, basketball, and soccer. He also participated in a mentoring program at Key West High School to support the youth of the Key West community in helping them to reach their goals.

Bill and his wife, Andrea, a CPA, have three children, William Jr., an attorney and UF graduate; Lande, an attorney and Harvard graduate, and Charles who has a UF Master of Building.
